Quality-oriented Orthopedic Medicine and Surgery practice seeking a dynamic Medical Scribe/Assistant for a full-time position. Strong preference to commitment of 1 year or more. Preference for immediate start date.
Prior experience with medical scribing and/or medical assisting strongly preferred but not required.
This role is geared towards those planning to apply to medical, PA, or PT school as an excellent gap-year(s) position.
Part-time applicants or those that are still in school unfortunately cannot be considered.
Includes opportunities to observe surgeries (during free time) and be mentored by Orthopedic Surgeons and Physician Assistants.
Ideal applicants will have a typing speed of greater than 45 words per minute, strong listening and communication abilities, pristine attention to detail, an interest in healthcare or health sciences, and be quick, proactive learners who can adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Daily Scribe duties include accurately documenting each patient visit in Electronic Medical Record (EMR), writing prescriptions for medications, writing physical therapy and other medical orders, assisting with patient messages, maintaining cleanliness of clinic rooms, occasionally assisting with patient care, and more.
Daily Medical Assistant duties include rooming and triaging patients, managing patient flow, responding to patient messages, fitting for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and other items, drawing up and setting up for injections, and more.

Clinic runs Monday through Friday 8am‑4pm; typical working hours are 7:45am‑5pm.
Clinic is located in Downtown DC with easy metro access to Farragut North/West metro stations.
