Responsibilities

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health opened its doors this April as the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 25 years. Integrating clinical care with community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), The George Washington University Hospital, and the Urgent Care Center in Ward 8, this expanded delivery system will establish a robust network of care for District residents, with a focus on Wards 7 and 8 having access to high-quality care in their community.

The hospital will offer 136 beds (expandable to 184), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and outpatient services, onsite 550-car parking, and a helipad for emergency transport.

We are seeking a Medical Lab Tech - ASCP Certified (Full-Time)

Our ideal candidate will perform laboratory analysis and administrative tasks associated with clinical assessment of patients. They will utilize the laboratory information system to document all aspects of testing and related communications. They will record and verify test results accurately in the laboratory computer system. They will execute tasks required to maintain accreditation with JCAHO, CAP, DCRA, AABB, and FDA.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Associates degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Certification as an MLT (ASCP) or Associates degree in biological science and completion of a military training program in laboratory technology of at least 12-month duration or a combination of education and experience.

Skills

• Ability to remain calm and focused during high-pressure situations.
• Commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient care and safety.
• Prior experience as a Lab Technician preferred.
