Overview

The Milken Institute School of Public Health (SPH) at George Washington University, located in Washington, D.C., is a top-ranked public health program. A Senior Research Associate, Data Analysis position is available in the Department of Global Health with Dr. Emily Smith's research group. The focus is on data analysis to support harmonized data collection and analysis for an international, multi-site study funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, tracking maternal and newborn health outcomes during pregnancy and postpartum in Kenya, India, and Pakistan.

Responsibilities include managing complex datasets, analyzing data, and interpreting results. The role requires familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in epidemiology and global health.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze longitudinal data with guidance from the PI and in collaboration with team members, including those based at GW and external international collaborators.
  • Develop queries to ensure data consistency, completeness, and accuracy.
  • Write and run code for site-specific data quality assessment; interpret and present findings in monthly monitoring reports and scientific publications.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties logically related to the position.

The Senior Research Associate will be supervised day-to-day by the PI (Dr. Emily Smith). The initial appointment is for one year, with an opportunity for extension after successful completion of the year.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified candidates will hold a Master's degree in a related discipline and 3 years of direct experience in the field. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.

$50,741.17 - $80,927.47
