Travel RN - Labor & Delivery

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position in Washington, DC, requiring a DC RN license, BLS, ACLS, NRP, and intermediate electronic fetal monitoring certification.

Job Details

• Position is in a hospital-based Labor and Delivery unit,

• Primary patient population includes women from 17 weeks gestation, laboring, with scheduled procedures such as C-sections and external cephalic versions,

• Unit activities include admissions, discharges, transfers, pre-op, triage, and deliveries (both vaginal and C-section),

• Common equipment includes fetal monitors and Fetalink documentation,

• Uses Cerner EMR and Fetalink for documentation; experience with Cerner is required,

• Schedule consists of four 12-hour night shifts per week, totaling 48 hours,

• Candidates must reside at least 25 miles from the facility,

Job Requirements

• Active DC RN license required,

• Minimum of two years recent L&D experience in a US hospital,

• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP (AHA only), and AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring,

• Cerner EMR experience required,

• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification mandated,

• Must provide a valid US Social Security Number,

• No pending licenses accepted; active license must be in hand at time of consideration,

Additional Information

• Responsible for delivering care to laboring patients, managing scheduled obstetric procedures, and responding to obstetric emergencies,

• May be assigned pre-op and triage duties in addition to labor and delivery responsibilities,

• Documentation is performed using Cerner and Fetalink systems,

• Candidate must provide references from at least one recent supervisor and one other manager or supervisor from the past twelve months,

• Scrub requirements are not specified,
