As a Radiation Therapist, you will administer radiation therapy treatments, perform simulation procedures, and assist in the planning of radiation therapy treatments. Documents all aspects of patient treatment in medical records. Supports the Chief Therapist and Technical Director in implementing new policies and procedures and attaining departmental and organizational goals. • Records simulation, treatment delivery and billing; utilizes the QA Checklist function; runs the Contingency Report; schedules simulation and treatment procedures; provides patients with initial appointments and treatment calendars; resolves treatment schedule conflicts; ensures all simulation and treatment schedules are resolved at day‑end; evaluates missed appointments and documents them in the EMR; keeps simulator rooms and console areas organized and stocked; notifies chief therapist of technical supplies;
  
  reports all malfunctions to the physicist/engineer and logs them.
• Participates in meetings and committees, represents the department and hospital in community outreach, sends evaluations to supervisors, actively participates in QA procedures, performs dose verification, records SSDs weekly, acquires necessary patient imaging, ensures charts are accurate and complete.
• Operates the CT simulator and equipment, performs morning QA and emergency shutdown procedures, follows CT scanner guidelines, performs HDR and mold room duties, performs urethrograms, oral and IV contrast, consistently performs Time‑Out procedure and educates patients, fabricates immobilization devices, verifies consent forms, completes documentation, photographs & associations, QCL, and billing.
• Documents symptoms or problems, promotes patient‑friendly environment, treats patients and families with courtesy and respect, notifies physician and nursing staff of cancellations, performs document scanning, assists in training new therapy staff, completes student/visitor forms and evaluations.
• Operates linear accelerators, demonstrates proficiency in setup and administration, performs morning QA and emergency shutdown procedures, administers treatments per safety guidelines, provides patient education on skin care, diet, side effects, performs hand calculations and AD‑Calc dose verifications.

• Graduation from an accredited school of Radiation Therapy Technology.
• Maryland Board of Physicians License 'O' as a Radiation Therapist, or ASRT – Radiation Therapist 'M' licensed as a Radiation Therapist and Radiographer.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification with AED.
• Must maintain Maryland CE continuing educational requirements (24 credits/2 years).

This position has a hiring range of $39.25 – $64.71.
