Inpatient & Outpatient Orthopedic Spine PA/ACNP – Med Star Washington Hospital Center

We invite you to join a dynamic Orthopaedic Spine team at Med Star Washington Hospital Center—the region’s largest and most specialized hospital. This is an exceptional opportunity to care for a diverse patient population while partnering with fellowship‑trained spine surgeons who manage some of the most complex cases in the Washington, D.C. area.

We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to support Dr. Addisu Mesfin and the spine team at Med Star Washington Hospital Center (MWHC). The provider will also collaborate with six additional Orthopaedic APPs throughout the hospital.

• Manage post‑operative surgical patients
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care
• Collaborate closely with orthopedic residents
• Participate in daily rounds
• Support overall inpatient operations

• Provide orthopedic care in both the Med Star Washington Hospital Center orthopaedic clinic and one day per week in our Wheaton, MD clinic
• Conduct independent orthopedic clinic visits with physician‑level support available
• Complete administrative tasks as part of the outpatient schedule

• One dedicated day per week in the OR, assisting with spine surgery cases

• Monday‑Friday, 40 hours/week
• Earlier start times possible on inpatient days
• No evenings, nights, or weekends

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program
• Ability to obtain and maintain MD and DC licensure
• Strong verbal/written communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency
