MRI Technologist/Technician 13 weeks contract position in Washington, DC Job Summary

The MRI Technologist/Technician, under direct supervision of a radiologist, performs quality magnetic resonance imaging scans on patients of all ages.

Base pay range

$61.00/hr – $61.00/hr

Education

Technician:
Associate’s degree in MRI program.
Technologist:
Bachelor’s degree in MRI program.

Licensure

State‑specific; current, unrestricted license or registration to practice as an MRI technologist/technician, including ARRT registration.

Experience

One to two years of current MRI technologist/technician experience in a clinical setting.

Credentials

Current CPR certification; other health and screening tests as required by specific facilities and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities
  • Comply with ATC policies and procedures.
  • Comply with client facility policies and procedures.
  • Accurately and completely document services provided.
  • Maintain confidentiality in patient care and facility practices per HIPAA.
  • Provide patient care in a non‑judgmental, non‑discriminatory manner, respecting cultural diversity and age appropriateness to preserve autonomy, rights, and dignity.
  • Communicate information effectively to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain competency through continuing education and meet state‑specific requirements.
  • Interview patients and explain MRI procedures.
  • Position patients on the examining table following radiologist protocols.
  • Enter data such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation, and position into the computer system.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy.
  • Monitor patient safety and comfort; view images on the video display screen to ensure quality of pictures.
