Duties- You will maintain Region Emergency Management Plans, directives and procedures.
- You will collect information from multiple sources, evaluate and analyze data during emergency operations.
- You will facilitate emergency planning efforts through the NDW Region Emergency Management Working Group.
- You will develop official agreements and memorandums of understanding between NDW and other organizations for mutual aid and support during emergencies.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level (time-in-grade).
- Within the Department of Defense, the appointment of retired military members within 180 days following retirement is subject to 5 U.S.C. 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Required to obtain and maintain an interim/final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
- This position may require travel to CONUS/OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites; travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods may be required.
- Supervisors in the executive branch must review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR .
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Developing, implementing, budgeting, and maintaining the Region Emergency Management program;
2) developing and sustaining an emergency management program that supports Region and installation disaster response and recovery requirements;
3) Maintaining region and installation Emergency Management plans, directives and procedures in coordination with tenant commands and local communities; and
4) Representing the Region in matters of emergency operations and contingency planning, training, and exercising to all outside agencies.
