This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Professional Responsibility, Investigative Operations Division, Protective Operations Branch, located in Washington D.C. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring for law enforcement jobs that have an exciting opportunity. Once onboarded, you ll first be assigned for up to one year to support the D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force. The law enforcement component of the D.C. Task Force is a partnership of over 20 federal and local agencies working together to make D.C. the safest city in America.

Joining Customs & Border Protection will allow you to use your expertise in supporting executive security protection and criminal investigations, corruption, misconduct, counter-terrorism, and counter-intelligence investigations/programs.
Apply for this exciting opportunity to strengthen the Department s ability to protect the homeland by directly affecting protective operations, national security and agency integrity. This position starts at a salary of $ (GS-13, Step
1) to $ (GS-13, Step 10).
Major duties include:
- Conducting protective intelligence investigations of major inter-regional dimensions having national or international implications; and investigating individuals, businesses, employees, and criminal organizations that represent a significant threat to the United States national security; against individuals, groups or organizations posing a threat toward CBP employees.
- Conducting proactive and/or reactive criminal investigations involving agency employees or related entities suspected of crimes affecting the administration of Customs and Immigration laws including, but not limited to, perjury, giving false, fictitious, or fraudulent information, human and/or narcotics trafficking/smuggling, and other federal, state, or local violations.
- Preparing detailed reports of investigation and briefings in a timely manner for presentation to the CBP Discipline Review Board, Office of Chief Counsel, Labor and Employee Relations, and deciding officials.
- Preparing and executing operation plans, search and arrest warrants, conducting arrests or other judicial processes such as document subpoenas and electronic surveillance orders.
