Opportunity at AltanaWe are seeking an experienced Senior Policy Analyst to join our growing Government Affairs team. This individual will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and developing policies that are relevant to Altana’s goals and objectives. The role involves extensive legislative and regulatory research, data analysis, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure a full understanding of policies and laws. This is not an entry level position and will report directly to our Director of Government Affairs.

- Research and Analysis:
- Conduct thorough research on relevant policy issues and trends.
- Analyze data and information to assess the potential impacts of proposed policies.
- Evaluate existing policies.
- Policy Development:
- Develop policy proposals and recommendations based on research findings.
- Draft policy reports and briefing notes.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather input and feedback on policy position proposals.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Query government officials, industry experts, and other stakeholders to gather insights and build support for policy initiatives.
- Communication:
- Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Communicate complex policy issues clearly and effectively to various audiences.
- Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Monitor the implementation and impact of policies.
- Evaluate policy outcomes and make recommendations for adjustments as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5+ years of Legislative or similar experience at an Executive Branch agency or industry Trade Association.
- Proven experience as a Professional Staff Member, Legislative Assistant, Policy Analyst or similar role.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This role is based in Washington, DC, USA with hybrid work flexibility and candidates must be within commuting distance from our downtown office.
US Salary Range and Benefits$100,000 - $120,000 USD
