We are currently recruiting for a DIRO Action Officer to support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA‑H). This position is full‑time, exempt. Start date is immediate upon selection and public trust clearance processing as required.
SUMMARYThe Action Officer role would be supporting the CMO at the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA‑H), providing high-level operational and executive support in a fast‑paced environment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Strategic Support:
- Assist the CMO/Senior Advisor in developing, implementing, and tracking strategic priorities and initiatives
- Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports for high-level meetings and engagements
- Conduct research and analysis to inform decision‑making and policy development
- Operational Coordination:
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate logistics for internal and external engagements
- Track action items, deadlines, and deliverables, ensuring timely completion and follow‑up
- Serve as a liaison between the CMO/Senior Advisor and other ARPA‑H teams, government agencies, and external partners
- Communication & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Draft correspondence, talking points, and communications on behalf of the CMO/Senior Advisor
- Facilitate information flow and ensure alignment across teams and projects
- Support outreach and engagement activities with key stakeholders, including federal agencies, academic institutions, and industry partners
- Project Management:
- Lead or support special projects and initiatives as assigned by the CMO/Senior Advisor
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and recommend solutions to overcome obstacles
- Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment (government, healthcare, research, or consulting preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity
- Ability to work collaboratively with all team members.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- PowerPoint, Project, Excel, and Word.
- Advanced degree in public health, biomedical sciences, health policy, or related field preferred
- Experience supporting senior executives or government officials is highly desirable
- Familiarity with biomedical research, health innovation, or federal health agencies is a plus
- Working in a start‑up environment is a plus
