Overview
Culmen is seeking a Policy Analyst to support a DOD Space Force program located on a customer site in Washington, DC.
What You'll Do in Your New RoleThis role provides expert policy development, analysis, and strategic guidance in support of missions, personnel, and readiness initiatives. The Policy Analyst works across leadership, human capital, operational, and acquisition stakeholders to shape policy frameworks and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Develop, analyze, and implement Space Force policies across personnel management, force structure, and readiness missions.
- Craft policy, strategy, and guidance based on mission directives, statutory obligations (e.g., PMA requirements), and vision.
- Conduct research and produce executive-level written products, including briefing papers, talking points, and correspondence.
- Support Department-level policy development, cross-functional program oversight, and sustainment/acquisition/intelligence collaboration.
- Develop guidance, doctrine, and analytical materials to support program improvements and initiatives.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis, synthesizing significant amounts of information to provide leaders with decision-ready assessments.
- Execute government directives and ensure policy compliance across Space Force personnel and mission areas.
- Coordinate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, providing recommendations on policy impacts and implementation pathways.
- Support working groups, program reviews, and strategic planning efforts, including documentation and workload coordination.
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Management, Intelligence Studies, Communications, Logistics, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant policy, analysis, personnel, or DoD experience.
- Demonstrated ability to collect, organize, analyze, and visualize complex information with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong executive writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Active Secret clearance;
Top Secret preferred.
- Familiarity with Pentagon processes, HQ staffing tools, or recent DoD space initiatives.
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Intelligence Studies, Logistics, or related fields
