Position Title:
Special Security Technician
Salary Range:$100,000 - $115,000
Position Summary:We are seeking a Special Security Technician to support the Special Security Officer (SSO) in managing access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and SCI Facilities (SCIFs). This role involves controlling SCI visitor clearances and access, conducting SCI security briefings, indoctrinations, debriefings, and training on classified materials and SSO-related topics. Responsibilities also include obtaining signed nondisclosure agreements, providing guidance for SCI eligibility requests, and performing classified material audits and SCIF facility inspections.
Additional duties may involve developing policy recommendations related to classified materials.
- Conduct scheduled opening and closing of a SCIF.
- Manage and control access to SCI and a SCIF.
- Verify and process SCI visitor clearances/access.
- Deliver SCI security briefings, debriefings, and training on classified materials and SSO-related topics.
- Obtain and file signed nondisclosure agreements.
- Provide guidance for SCI position and eligibility requests for military, government, and contractor personnel.
- Conduct audits of classified materials and inspect classified material storage facilities, SCIFs, and containers.
- Research and prepare recommendations for policies related to classified materials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience with Special Access Programs (SAP) is highly valued.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, with experience within the last two years.
