Nonprofit organization seeks a permanent Controller to oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.

• Maintain internal controls and compliance activities, ensuring alignment with policies and all federal, state, provincial, and local regulations.
• Conduct financial analysis and develop financial reports and statements.
• Perform research and risk management analysis
• Oversee financial management of grants, developing budgets, ensuring compliance with terms, reconciling grant expenditures, and organizing pertinent documents such as agreements, amendments, and financial reports.
• Create standard operating procedures and train staff on grant management procedures.
• Prepare and review annual audit and regulatory filings.
• Manage annual budget process along with senior leadership.
• Liaise with external stakeholders and serve as primary point of contact for vendors and service providers.
• Assist with additional special projects as assigned.

• Familiarity with Canadian and U.S. accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and financial systems.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office applications and Sage Intacct.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
• Supervisory experience.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Salary: $140,000 - $160,000 per year.
