Finance & Banking Associate, Financial Analyst

Our client is a large endowment in the Washington, DC area. They are currently seeking an Associate for their investment team. The Associate will be a generalist and will have the opportunity to work on private and public fund investments, as well as some direct co-investments. The role is expected to be a three-year commitment, and exceptional performers may have the opportunity to stay at the firm.

• Identification of potential new managers, evaluation, and diligence across all asset classes
• Monitoring existing investments and re-underwriting managers as needed
• Assessing global markets and various investment strategies
• Work on special projects as needed
• Assist in the preparation of reports for the investment committee

• Two to five years of relevant work experience (prior manager selection/due diligence at an endowment, foundation, fund of funds, or family office is a significant plus, will consider candidates with direct investing, investment banking, or management consulting)
• Bachelor’s degree is required
• A demonstrated interest in investing and present a track record of accomplishment in their prior endeavors
• An interest in the mission and impact of the endowment
• Excellent analytical skills and a strong understanding of investment theory and financial markets
• Superior research and critical thinking skills, with an ability to take large data sets and present relevant information in a clear and concise manner
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Willingness to make independent assessments and recommendations
• Desire to work in a team-oriented environment
• Willingness to travel to meet with potential and existing investment managers
