Financial Analyst

We’re looking for a Senior Loan Officer & Underwriter who combines strong financial analysis skills with a genuine passion for working directly with entrepreneurs. If you enjoy digging into financials and building relationships, this role sits right at that intersection.
What You’ll DoIn this role, you’ll support the full lending lifecycle, from underwriting to borrower support, while helping ensure our lending decisions are responsible, mission-aligned, and impactful. You will:- Review and underwrite small business loan applications.
- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and projections.
- Prepare clear underwriting analyses and loan recommendations.
- Work directly with entrepreneurs to assess loan readiness and explain lending decisions.
- Partner with Portfolio and Program teams to support borrower success.
- Conduct outreach through community events, partner meetings, and presentations.
- Maintain accurate, compliant loan documentation and pipeline tracking.
- Contribute insights to improve lending products, systems, and borrower outcomes.

Required- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 2 years of experience with a commercial lender.
- Experience working directly with small business owners or entrepreneurs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort with financial analysis, documentation, and compliance.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with mission-driven or community development lending (CDFIs a plus).
- Familiarity with loan management or underwriting systems.
- Experience providing small business technical assistance or coaching.
- Bilingual English/Spanish (professional proficiency).
- Hybrid work model (in-office presence required as needed).
- Typical schedule is 9am–5pm, with occasional evenings/weekends for community events.
- Local travel within the DMV region (up to ~25%).
Salary range: $63,761 – $73,387 (commensurate with experience and budget)
