A well-established private equity firm based in Washington, DC is seeking a Private Equity Associate to join its investment team. The firm invests across control-oriented transactions and is known for its collaborative culture, disciplined investment approach, and long-term partnership mindset.
This role offers
meaningful responsibility from day one
, direct exposure to senior investment professionals, and the opportunity to work across the full investment lifecycle—from sourcing and diligence through execution and portfolio value creation.
- 2–4 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or a comparable investing role
- Exceptionally strong financial modeling and analytical skill set
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented, thoughtful, and intellectually curious
- Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment with open dialogue and mentorship
- Interest in building a long-term career in private equity
- Evaluate new investment opportunities through financial modeling, industry research, and qualitative analysis
- Build and maintain detailed operating and LBO models
- Prepare investment memoranda and materials for internal investment committee discussions
- Support transaction execution, including coordination with advisors, legal counsel, and management teams
- Conduct commercial, financial, and operational due diligence
- Actively monitor portfolio company performance and assist with value creation initiatives
- Participate in portfolio management, board materials, and exit planning
- Collaborative, low-ego investment team with strong mentorship and sponsorship
- High visibility with senior partners and principals
- Emphasis on thoughtful decision-making rather than aggressive deal volume
