Overview

BGS Consulting is expanding its Private Equity Value Creation & Transaction Execution practice and is seeking an experienced senior finance leader to join the firm in a permanent or contract capacity. This individual will play a critical role supporting founder-led and PE-backed companies through transaction preparation, diligence, and post-transaction value creation initiatives.

This role is ideal for a hands-on Finance Leader who enjoys working across multiple clients, partnering with private equity sponsors and management teams, and owning outcomes across deal readiness, financial infrastructure, and strategic execution.

While the initial focus will be on transaction-driven engagements, this role will include ongoing portfolio company support, finance transformation, and operational value creation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction & Deal Execution

• Serve as a senior finance lead on sell-side and minority investment transactions, supporting companies through diligence, Quality of Earnings (QoE), and investor processes.

• Partner with investment banks, QoE providers, auditors, and legal advisors to ensure efficient transaction execution.

• Prepare and review financial diligence materials, data rooms, normalization analyses, and transaction-related financial schedules.

• Support management teams in responding to diligence requests and investor questions.

• Act as an interim or advisory finance leader for portfolio companies lacking full-time CFO coverage.

• Improve financial reporting, forecasting, and cash flow visibility in preparation for investment or growth.

• Evaluate and enhance outsourced accounting relationships and internal finance teams.

• Translate operational performance into investor-ready financial narratives.

FP&A & Strategic Analysis

• Build and review financial models, scenario analyses, and growth forecasts for founder-led and PE-backed businesses.

• Analyze unit economics, margin drivers, and scalability across multi-location or recurring-revenue models.

• Support value creation initiatives tied to pricing, cost structure, and operating leverage.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Assess finance systems, workflows, and controls across portfolio companies.

• Lead or support improvements related to billing systems, recurring revenue, transaction processing, and automation.

• Implement scalable processes and internal controls appropriate for investor-backed environments.

Client & Sponsor Partnership

• Serve as a trusted advisor to founders, CEOs, and PE sponsors.

• Communicate clearly with senior stakeholders, delivering insights with urgency and credibility.

• Represent BGS Consulting as a senior leader in client-facing environments.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Senior finance leader with CFO, VP Finance, or Transaction Lead experience.

• Demonstrated success supporting sell-side transactions, minority investments, or PE-backed companies.

• Strong understanding of Quality of Earnings (QoE), financial diligence, and investor expectations.

• Comfortable stepping into ambiguous, fast-moving environments and owning outcomes.

• Experience professionalizing finance functions that have historically been bootstrapped or lightly resourced.

• Background in services, consumer, multi-location, or recurring-revenue businesses strongly preferred.

• Experience with finance systems supporting high transaction volumes and recurring billing.

• Consulting mindset: adaptable, client-oriented, and execution-focused.

• Open to permanent hire or contract-based engagement, depending on candidate preference and experience.

• Exposure to multiple private equity transactions and portfolio companies.
