Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with an intellectual property law firm who is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead their financial department.

Purpose Statement:
As the Director of Finance, you will oversee the firm's financial operations, including the preparation and analysis of financial reports, budget management, financial forecasting, and payroll oversight.

Your role will be crucial in ensuring the financial health and compliance of the firm across all operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and support the firm's billing system, including electronic billing and client requests.

• Maintain internal billing rates and communicate with clients about account balances.

• Act as the primary contact for banking relationships, manage firm funds, and handle wire transfers.

• Oversee the firm's pension plan processes and coordinate with external auditors.

• Prepare and present monthly financial reports and annual budgets to the Management Committee.

• Supervise payroll processing and maintain the electronic timekeeping system.

• Prepare partner draw payments and maintain capital balances.

• Produce yen-based financial statements for Japanese tax preparation.

• Coordinate year-end auditing and prepare tax returns.

• Supervise and coordinate the accounting department staff.

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Accounting and Finance; CPA preferred.

• 2+ years of experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.

• Proficiency in automated time and billing systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
