LHH is partnered with a highly respected, global, multi-strategy investment management firm in the DC metro market that is seeking an AVP of Fund Accounting to provide comprehensive investment portfolio accounting, valuation, performance reporting, audit, and tax support.

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of positions, cash, and valuations with third‑party administrators and custodians.
  • Calculate daily and monthly investment portfolio performance using accounting systems and service provider data.
  • Ensure accurate and appropriate accounting treatment for valuations/pricing, subscriptions and redemptions.
  • Verify accounting treatment of investor activities such as contributions and withdrawals.
  • Calculate asset‑based fees, fund expenses, performance fees, and income/loss allocations.
  • Complete NAV computation and series accounting.
  • Oversee annual audits, including preparation and review of financial statements with third‑party administrators.
  • Coordinate with independent auditors and prepare audit confirmation requests and other audit‑related materials.
  • Validate tax filings including K‑1s, annual tax returns, and FATCA documentation.
  • Handle ad‑hoc requests and projects, including investor requests, audit confirmations, and other assigned tasks.
Qualifications
  • CPA Required.
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 5–8+ years of relevant experience at an asset manager, administrator, or public accounting firm.
  • Understanding of US GAAP as it applies to investment funds and portfolios.
  • Experience maintaining trial balances and general ledger entries for investment portfolios.
  • Experience with hedge funds, private investments, and multi‑asset fund structures is beneficial.
  • Effective problem‑solving and workload‑prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
