Accounting Manager

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team on a contract basis in Washington, District of Columbia. This role involves leading a team of four and managing key financial operations to ensure accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise and a collaborative approach to drive success in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and oversee the daily operations of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.

- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with organizational standards.

- Manage month-end close processes, ensuring all reconciliations and journal entries are completed.

- Implement and maintain audit preparation procedures to ensure compliance and readiness.

- Supervise and mentor a team of four, fostering attention to detail in development and performance.

- Conduct detailed account reconciliations to validate financial data.

- Review and approve journal entries to maintain accurate financial reporting.

- Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze financial data effectively and create comprehensive reports.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify process improvements and streamline financial workflows.

- Ensure compliance with U.S. accounting regulations and standards throughout all operations. Requirements - Proven experience in managing month-end close processes and financial reporting.

- Strong knowledge of general ledger functions and account reconciliation.

- Expertise in preparing financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.

- Hands-on experience with audit preparation and compliance requirements.

- Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions for financial analysis.

- Solid understanding of U.S. accounting regulations and practices.

- Excellent leadership skills with a track record of managing teams successfully.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
