Budget Analyst

Overview

CGI is seeking a Budget Analyst to provide administrative support to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Washington, DC.

The hourly non-negotiable rate is $27.41 hr.

This position is located at 500 12th Street SW, Washington DC 20024.

Your future duties and responsibilities include the following. Work is performed under close supervision and assignments are clearly defined with specified methods.

• Formulates, analyzes, administers and monitors an organization s budget.
• Prepare budget estimates to support programs; present and justify budget estimates; administer approved budgets and determine funding requirements within authorized limits.
• Evaluate and administer requests for funds and monitor and control obligations and expenditures; develop and interpret budget policies.
• As a trainee, perform a variety of clearly-defined tasks to increase knowledge and understanding of budget concepts, principles, practices, and procedures.
• Assist in the development of budgets by comparing projected costs to schedules; assist in budget administration by examining and highlighting deviations in reports listing the status of financial obligations and expenditures.

• Required to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to read, interpret, and apply Federal policy, directives, and regulations.
• Excellent knowledge of basic fact-gathering and research methodology.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communications skills; ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Experience with various software is essential, i.e., Windows, Adobe, MS Office Suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and MS Word), SharePoint and Teams.
• 1-3 years of experience in correspondence or related field.
• Ability to successfully complete a CGI Background Investigation to include 50 State Criminal, Education, Employment, Credit and Driving Records Checks.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Justice Modified Risk Public Trust waiver.
• Strong personal computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
• Ability to perform as a member of a team.
