This is an onsite, direct-hire opportunity based in Washington D.C. for an experienced Events Technical Manager. The role offers full-time, permanent employment with a faith-based organization and requires hands‑on oversight of production and event operations.

Events Technical Manager Role:Oversee production and event operations for a religious organization, ensuring high‑quality experiences for guests, donors, and community members.
Coordinate and schedule production staff year‑round to provide proper coverage for each event.
Manage event budgets, negotiate quotes with vendors and contractors, and ensure cost‑effective operations.
Develop and implement workflow policies and procedures to improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
Provide hands‑on support in technical roles as needed, including:
Audio Engineer, Lighting Technician, Projectionist, Video Production Technician, Stage Manager, and live streaming support.
Collaborate closely with Event Coordinators and internal stakeholders, including facilities and security teams.
Determine technical requirements for events in advance and advise on implementation of approved designs.
Oversee technical rehearsals, event operations, load‑ins, and load‑outs, ensuring smooth execution.
Monitor critical areas of event spaces daily to maintain safety standards.
Assess and suggest operational efficiencies, maintenance needs, and facility improvements.
Maintain a professional and welcoming presence when interacting with VIPs, donors, talent, or guests.
Events Technical Manager Background Profile:B.A. or B.F.A. in Theater Studies, Technical Production, or related field experience strongly preferred.
Minimum 3 years in theater or live event technical production
Supervisory experience overseeing technical staff and managing team performance.
Hands‑on experience managing multiple events of varying size, scope, and technical complexity.
Strong technical expertise across audio, lighting, video, projections, stage, and live/streaming events.
Experience with standard industry lighting, show control, audio mixing/amplification, video playback/distribution, and projection systems.
Working knowledge of IT/networking principles and related hardware.
Ability to understand and manage complex contracts related to live events.
Knowledge of back‑of‑house facility maintenance and safety procedures.
Must be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.
Remain calm under pressure and troubleshoot technical or operational issues efficiently.
Ability to make informed, diplomatic decisions regarding event feasibility and budget.
