Fox TV Stations owns and operates 29 full‑power broadcast television stations in the U.S. The stations cover 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas (DMAs) and include duopolies in 11 DMAs, such as New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Eighteen stations are affiliated with the FOX Network. Together our stations produce about 1,200 hours of local news per week and distribute sports, entertainment, and syndicated content.

Broadcast Stagehand (Per Diem Part‑Time) – WTTG/WDCA, FOX 5 DC/FOX 5 Plus. FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is a leading local broadcaster that delivers high‑quality news and entertainment across broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms. We are seeking a motivated and reliable Stagehand to join our production team. This hands‑on role provides crucial technical and physical support for daily productions, ensuring studio environments and occasional remote locations are safe, functional, and visually compelling.

• Scene Management:
  Execute the placement and operation of studio scenes and structures, including setup and teardown of sets, backdrops, and furniture as required by daily production needs.
• Maintenance & Repair:
  Perform routine maintenance and repair on scenic elements, structures, and studio equipment.
• Lighting Operation:
  Assist with placement and operation of studio lighting, including hanging, focusing, and maintaining various lighting devices.
• Tool Competence:
  Use hand tools and power tools safely for set construction, modification, and repair.
• Technical Communication:
  Maintain proficiency with computers, email, and be comfortable with training on new studio operations and scheduling systems.
• Logistics & Travel:
  Occasionally travel between locations may be required; deliver and pick up materials offsite to support productions.
• Work efficiently in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma (or equivalent) required; a 2‑4 year college or technical degree preferred.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum 3 years of recent, relevant experience as a stagehand, set technician, or similar role in live broadcast, theatrical, or production environments.
• Driving:
  Must possess, or be willing to obtain, a valid local driver’s license (DC, MD, VA), maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and insurance eligibility.
• Physical Demands: able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs; sit and stand for extended periods; use dexterity including stairs, ladders, bending, squatting, kneeling, and twisting.

FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is a 24/7 operation. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, including evenings, early mornings, weekends, holidays, and breaking news. Candidates will also be required to join the I.A.T.S.E Local 819 union. This position will be for no less than two weeks, with no end date determined at this time.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate for this role, with the final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location, is $32.16 per hour.
