Description:
Onsite in Washington, DC The organization seeks a Sr. Electrical Power Engineer II to lead design, evaluation, and sustainment of power systems for mission-critical telecommunications infrastructure. The role advances reliability and resilience for high-visibility federal customers through disciplined engineering and clear stakeholder communication in secure environments. Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen with an active Top-Secret clearance.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Qualified applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Salary: $180,000 - $230,000/ yr. w2 Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
* Lead, plan, design, monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, document, and evolve the electrical state of telecommunications networks.
* Design and evaluate electrical power systems that support mission-critical infrastructure.
* Support resilient, high-availability operations in secure environments.
* Participate in Agile execution and technical planning discussions.
* Troubleshoot power system issues and operational faults.
* Communicate technical recommendations and engineering decisions to stakeholders.
* Build and maintain customer trust through technical excellence and disciplined execution.
* Apply creativity and engineering judgment to deliver innovative, mission-aligned solutions. Experience Requirements:
Experience Requirements
* Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
* DoD 8140 certification aligned to the 451 System Administrator work role when the billet is cyber-coded, such as Security+ as a baseline with SSCP or CISSP for senior practitioners. If not cyber-coded, certification may be designated as not applicable.
* 8+ years of experience evaluating, researching, designing, and analyzing complex electrical power systems supporting IT system power services.
* Demonstrated expertise leading and executing electrical power engineering across planning, design, monitoring, troubleshooting, evaluation, documentation, and acceptance.
* Hands-on experience with data center and IT electrical systems, including power distribution, grounding, load analysis, UPS, ATS, and battery systems.
* Operational experience supporting critical infrastructure power systems, including facilities power, redundancy planning, and availability assurance.
* Ability to contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up in a mission-critical operational environment.
* Professional Engineer license where stamped engineering is required and NFPA 70E certification.
