Position Overview:

The Senior Cloud Architecture Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing secure, scalable cloud architectures in support of mission-critical government systems. This role provides technical leadership for cloud infrastructure design and ensures compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) security requirements, including STIGs and applicable cybersecurity policies. The Senior Cloud Architect collaborates with engineering, cybersecurity, Dev Sec Ops , and program teams to deliver resilient cloud solutions that support operational, performance, and security objectives.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, implement, and manage secure cloud environments using AWS, Azure, or equivalent platforms in accordance with DoD security and compliance requirements.
• Design and maintain cloud architectures that support high availability, scalability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.
• Ensure compliance with DoD STIGs, RMF, and cybersecurity policies, supporting system accreditation and continuous monitoring activities.
• Lead the design and integration of IaaS and PaaS solutions, including network architecture, identity and access management, and data protection mechanisms.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering and Dev Sec Ops  teams on cloud architecture best practices.
• Support system integration efforts, troubleshooting complex infrastructure, system administration, and network issues across cloud environments.
• Collaborate with program leadership and stakeholders to align cloud solutions with mission needs, technical requirements, and lifecycle planning.

Minimum Education and Qualifications – Senior Level:

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field
• Required Experience:
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience designing and implementing secure cloud architectures in government or enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in AWS and/or Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, networking, and security services.
  • Strong experience with Zero Trust architectures, cloud security design, and scalable system architectures.
  • Experience supporting systems in DoD or other regulated environments.
  • Possess one of the following certifications:
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional or Associate)
    • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert
    • CISSP or equivalent cybersecurity certification
