Status: Full-Time, Contingent Upon Award (Start date on or around 30 April)

Location: Washington DC

Security Clearance: Current Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility SSBI less than 4.5 years old

Travel: 10 to 25 percent CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required for program coordination.

Background: Vectrona is seeking a Power Engineer to support the design, installation, operation, and lifecycle maintenance of advanced countermeasures systems, primarily at overseas diplomatic facilities. The engineer builds and configures systems to ensure proper functionality and manages hardware and software configuration changes to maintain interoperability of highly technical equipment.

The Power Engineer provides technical support across all phases of system implementation, including pre installation, installation, and post installation activities, and coordinates technical reporting and documentation. The role supports evaluation and development of new countermeasure systems and test equipment, documents capabilities and limitations, and recommends improvements.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Support and deliver training to Department of State personnel on system installation, maintenance, and operation.
  • Conduct independent research and perform laboratory or field testing on emerging technologies and countermeasure systems.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing technical security policies and operational guidelines.
  • Participate in project design discussions and technical review meetings.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, user documentation, and installation surveys.
  • Support equipment upgrades, repairs, and system replacements at domestic and overseas sites.
  • Read, interpret, and create electrical and electromechanical schematics, including building systems drawings.
  • Manage data throughout its lifecycle, including collection, analysis, reporting, and secure disposition to support technical and operational requirements.

Preferred Education/Degree:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum ten years of work experience in power, electrical engineering, or physics.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience working with data throughout its lifecycle, including collection, management, analysis, reporting, and secure disposition.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Project, Visio, and Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Understanding of Internet of Things (IoT), operational technology (OT), security systems, and current industry trends.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with a positive attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task efficiently, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and create electrical and electromechanical schematics, including building systems drawings.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, C++, or other programming languages is a plus.
