Overview
This role will provide critical support the FAA's modernization of Air Traffic Control critical systems by facilitating IP infrastructure migration, and primarily handles assignment and tracking of IP addresses and supports telco service requests, while contributing to database tools and future commissioning efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Support and coordinate the system implementation work, track and process IP address requests, and complete telco service requests related to network provisioning.
- Support implementation of network changes, upgrades, and migrations following change-management procedures.
- Support development and maintenance of IP management database or similar repository.
- Support ongoing commissioning of new system channels, handling future IP assignments and capacity planning.
- Collaborate with test teams to verify VoIP performance, troubleshoot issues related to SIP/RTP call quality, delay, noise, and provisioning.
- Contribute to documentation: logs, database schemas, SOPs, IP allocation plans, and change control records.
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electrical / Telecommunication Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of professional experience in IP networking or system engineering roles.
- Good understanding of IP routing (static routes, OSPF, EIGRP, or BGP basics) and Ethernet switching (VLANs, 802.1Q, port-channels)
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, routing and switching concepts, and common protocols (HTTP, DNS, DHCP, SSH)
- Familiarity with VoIP protocols
- Experience with Python or shell scripting for automation.
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (ping, trace route, Wireshark, SNMP-based tools)
- Competency in Linux/Unix command-line operations.
- U.S. Citizenship or Green Card holder and ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and collaborative.
