They are seeking a Real-Time Trader to join their Energy Management team at their headquarters in Silver Spring, MD. Operating within a 24/7/365 Market Operations Center, you will be responsible for monitoring and optimizing a sophisticated fleet of generation assets across the PJM and NE ISO markets. This role is essential for managing real-time market actions, coordinating unit availability, and identifying commercial opportunities to maximize asset performance.

The position follows a unique rotating shift schedule involving shifts of up to 13 hours, designed to provide a consistent work-life balance with approximately 11 days off every month.

• Monitor and optimize generation assets across PJM and NE ISO markets in real time.
• Manage real-time market actions, coordinate unit availability, and identify commercial opportunities to maximize asset performance.
• Coordinate with plant personnel and ISO dispatchers to ensure reliable operations.
• Support shift-based operations in a 24/7/365 Market Operations Center.

• Educational Background:
  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Technical Proficiency:
  Strong skills in Microsoft Excel; experience with VBA is considered a significant advantage.
• Certification:
  Ability to pass and maintain the PJM Operator Generator Certification.
• Market Knowledge: A foundational understanding of North American Power and/or Gas market principles.
• Operational Mindset:
  Proven ability to make critical decisions under tight time constraints and strict regulatory (NERC/ISO) procedures.
• Reliability:
  The highest degree of punctuality and a commitment to working a 12 to 13-hour rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Communication:
  Excellent verbal and written skills for coordinating with plant personnel and ISO dispatchers.
• Professional Integrity:
  Ability to pass a comprehensive pre-employment background check and financial credit review.
