Assistant Project Manager - Aviation
STV is seeking an Assistant Project Manager – Aviation to join our aviation team in Washington, D.C.
In this role the Assistant Project Manager will work with the team to manage all phases of the aviation project life cycle including budgeting, planning, design, bidding, construction, commissioning, move management and close‑out services.
Responsibilities- Assist the Project Manager in leading the project team, setting goals, and developing policies and procedures to guide the project/program.
- Carry out duties as assigned by the Project Manager to achieve the successful completion of the project/program.
- Monitor design and construction activities to ensure that all phases of work are done in accordance with contractual agreements and corporate quality standards.
- Monitor, evaluate and develop project budgets, cash flow analyses, and cost estimates; review purchase orders, change orders, and invoices.
- Forecast, identify and address areas of potential liabilities and risks.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules; ensure that project objectives are met.
- Maintain client, consultant, contractor, and vendor relationships and manage conflict resolution.
- Communicate complex ideas, anticipate potential concerns, and persuade others, including executive leadership, to adopt positions that facilitate project success.
- Assist in the evaluation, development, and selection of standards, protocols, policies, and procedures to facilitate project success.
- Provide guidance, direction, and instruction to less experienced team members and colleagues.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and a track record in project management techniques, concepts, principles, and standards; excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
- Knowledge and ability to creatively resolve issues as they arise.
- High proficiency with Microsoft applications, including MS Project and SharePoint.
- Desired experience with project management software and applications.
- Ability to forecast project challenges and define solutions to maintain compliance with safety protocols, quality, schedule, and budget.
