ConstructionQuality Assurance Inspector - Structural
We are seeking an experienced Construction Quality Assurance Inspector - Structural to support the CBP Office of Facilities and Asset Management (OFAM) through AE Advisory Services and Construction Management Support (CMS). You will provide oversight and advisory support for new construction, facility renovations, infrastructure improvements, and site development projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, and federal standards.
This position is contingent upon the award of the contract. The period of performance for this project has a total of five (5) years, one (1) base year plus four (4) one (1) year option periods.
Key responsibilities- Oversight of new facility construction, renovations, and alterations.
- Coordination of site infrastructure improvements, including roadways, drainage, and utilities.
- Advisory support in civil engineering disciplines, including design submission reviews.
- Management of project milestones, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct investigative services, surveys, and geotechnical studies.
- Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and contract‑related documents.
- Assist in cost estimating, project scheduling, and value engineering analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering or 10 years equivalent construction experience in lieu of the bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil/structural engineering design or construction quality assurance oversight, or project management.
- Experience with federal construction projects and knowledge of FAR/DFAR, advantage.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Micro Station, MS Project, or similar engineering/project management software, advantage.
- The client conducts an extensive background check, must be able to pass DHS security clearance to obtain Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Card.
- Flexible to work on shifting schedule to provide office coverage of construction work in the US Borders such as TX, MI, Washington State, NY, CA and NM.
