About the role

Provide formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Efficiently recommend same for subordinates to next level management for review and approval. Plan and supervise appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including outside of normal business hours. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentor and coach team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and acts in a way that are consistent with the company s values.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors, tenant finish personnel and technicians. Oversight of all building systems including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC and electrical issues. Must remain current with the latest HVAC technology trends.

• Maintain ongoing communication with tenants, clients, owners, facility management team and vendors.

• May assist in solicitation and acquisition of new management, maintenance/repair service contracts. Coordinates development and maintenance of as-built drawings.

• Respond to all emergency situations quickly (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and customer concerns.

• Implement and coordinate inventory control programs/purchase parts and supplies.

• Establish and oversee programs to ensure compliance with applicable codes, requisitions, government agency and company directives as relates to building operations.

• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

* What you’ll Need

Knowledge and understanding of all applicable practices and techniques, laws, project controls and environmental regulations to include safety laws.

Universal CFC/EPA certification required. Additional certification in three or more of the following: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.

Requires reasonable knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts detailed financial analysis.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Asst. Chief Building Engineer position is $92,000 annually [or $44.23 per hour] and the maximum salary for the position is $98,000 annually [$47.11 hourly]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
