Role Overview

Lead and manage all aspects of interconnection for U.S. renewable energy projects, ensuring timely and compliant execution from initial planning through commercial operation. This position requires strong technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and cross-functional coordination to support project success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement interconnection strategies for projects across multiple regions.
  • Prepare and submit interconnection applications, oversee studies, and track agreements to maintain project timelines.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with ISOs, utilities, and internal teams (Engineering, Development, Construction, Compliance) to align on technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and negotiate interconnection agreements, technical specifications, and commissioning documentation.
  • Lead system modeling activities (RARF, QSA, dynamic models) and ensure adherence to ISO, PUC, and utility standards.
  • Provide technical guidance post-COD for operations, compliance, and market participation, including battery storage integration.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems focus preferred); advanced degree in Renewable Energy or Grid Operations is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with transmission-connected renewable projects and interconnection processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO rules and procedures (ERCOT, MISO, PJM, SPP, WECC).
  • Proficiency in modeling tools (PSSE, PSLF, TARA; PSCAD preferred) and MS Office; familiarity with Aspen, Power World, AutoCAD is advantageous.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Power Systems highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines effectively.
