- Take responsibility for the entire design process from the Proposal through preparation of the plans, specifications and estimate of a moderate to large transit project or projects
- Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity, typically in excess of $5 million and involving a large project staff
- Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
- Support and lead project pursuits, prepare proposals, scopes and fee estimates.
- Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
- Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines
- Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project development to complete documents on schedule
- Work with the Business/Accounting Manager, Project Controller or Company Controller and Department Manager or Managing Principal for project reviews
- Implement QA/QC procedures
- Execute training for personnel as established by strategic plans
- Supervise large project staffs and act as mentor for less-experienced Project Managers
- Maintain professional engineering registration
- Perform other duties as needed
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and personnel
- Experience with designing transit facilities such as stations, parks and rides, transit centers, and operations and maintenance facilities.
- Solid business development skills with history of winning projects as the proposed project manager or task lead
- Demonstrated ability to relate well to clients
- Demonstrated presentation skills
- Preference given to local candidates
- Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of 10 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work with various teams
- Project management skills desirable
- Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans
- Must have coordinated survey, grading, drainage and utilities and layout of various site items is a plus
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
