Highly creative and outstanding individuals are sought immediately for two postdoctoral positions in CFD for biological applications, specifically related to Long Duration Human Exploration Missions focusing on Vocal Fold Adduction for Airway Protection.

• Design and implement research protocols
• Design safety procedures
• Adapt new procedures, methods, or instrumentation related to research
• Oversee journal and log preparation
• Collect, prepare, and analyze research data; maintain detailed notebooks and databases; present data at conferences and in manuscripts; utilize graphics and statistical software
• Supervise laboratory personnel and participate in training
• Review scientific literature as needed
• Assist with ordering, procurement, and laboratory maintenance

Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field awarded prior to starting the position.

Strong background in CFD, FSI, tissue mechanics modeling, and programming. Additional skills include:

• Large-scale parallel computing
• Programming in Fortran or C
• Nonlinear optimization
• Medical image processing and anatomical computational models
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
