What You Can Expect

As our Health and Safety Sr. Analyst, you will play a key role in ensuring that ENGIE’s Capital Projects at Georgetown University are executed to the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance. You’ll support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of ENGIE’s HSE programs across all project sites, helping to build a proactive safety culture that protects people, property, and the environment.

This position supports ENGIE’s 50-year partnership with Georgetown University to operate, maintain, and enhance the campus utility systems. The projects you will help—ranging from new utility infrastructure to system modernizations—are central to the University’s energy transformation and sustainability goals.

No two days are the same. You’ll visit project sites, lead safety audits, investigate incidents, conduct training, and provide hands‑on guidance to field teams and contractors. Your success will be measured by your ability to promote a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement that drives ENGIE’s commitment to zero harm.

Additional duties include the following:

  • Support the development and implementation of ENGIE’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Strategic Plan across all capital projects.
  • Conduct field audits, inspections, and safety observations at active construction sites.
  • Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and the development of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain and analyze HSE performance data, preparing monthly reports and dashboards for leadership.
  • Provide safety training, toolbox talks, and safety culture assessments for ENGIE and contractor personnel.
  • Review and evaluate contractor safety plans and ensure alignment with ENGIE’s standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of ENGIE’s HSE Management System and compliance with OSHA 1910/1926 standards.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and corporate HSE teams to ensure consistency and compliance across all projects.
  • Benchmark ENGIE’s safety performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a field resource for safety leadership during construction, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
What You’ll Bring
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of construction or operational safety experience, preferably within utilities, energy, or industrial environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR Parts 1910 and 1926.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting audits, safety training, and incident investigations.
  • Experience developing and tracking corrective actions and safety improvement plans.
  • Proficiency in safety data management and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • OSHA 30 certification required; CHST, CSP, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Ability to lead by example, influence diverse teams, and foster a proactive safety culture.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in field‑based environments.
Additional Details
  • This position is not eligible for Hybrid work.
  • Must comply with all ENGIE ethics, HSE, and governance policies.
  • Physical ability to walk job sites and perform inspections under varying conditions.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record required.
