Transit Engineering Leader – Mid-Atlantic
HDR is seeking a Transit Engineering Leader to guide a successful and growing practice in the Mid‑Atlantic (Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia). This leader will provide programmatic and technical leadership as well as project management for a variety of transit engineering related contracts and clients.
In the role of Mid‑Atlantic Transit Engineering Leader, we’ll count on you to:
- Provide programmatic and technical leadership for transit engineering disciplines
- Deliver project management for a variety of transit engineering related contracts (track, structures, facilities, and systems) for our clients
- Guide program growth, client engagement, and industry involvement
- Establish client relations and be involved with marketing and client development activities
- Prepare scopes and fees for a variety of contracts and projects
- Collaborate with other disciplines on staff assignments and assignment priorities
- Contract management
- Team growth and mentorship of junior staff
- Perform other duties as needed
- Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand
- Experience with Mid‑Atlantic Area transit agencies such as WMA, MTA, Virginia Railway Express, Virginia Passenger Rail Authority, and Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation
- Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local standards and requirements related to transit‑focused project delivery processes such as conceptual design, feasibility, environmental documentation, PS&E, and DSDC
- Preference given to local candidates
- Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field
- 10 years of experience
- Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values
- Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience
- Experienced in development and management of diverse teams
- Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts

Baltimore, MD: $149,352 - $213,360. Washington, DC: $170,688 - $243,840.
