Systems Engineer Senior

Overview

We are searching for a Top Secret cleared Systems Engineer (Senior) to join our team in Washington, DC. The organization accelerates operations through data and analytical insights, providing enterprise tools for operational data discovery, exploitation, analytics, and visualization. The section collaborates across the enterprise to ensure applications and tools meet mission needs.

• Supervise, coordinate and/or design, develop and perform additions and changes to network hardware, infrastructure server environments, operating systems, and attached devices; including investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation, and testing of new network hardware and software.
• Provide direct support in day-to-day operations on network hardware and operating systems, including evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time, and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.
• Troubleshoot at the physical level of the network, using network measurement hardware/software, and perform physical checking and testing of hardware devices; work with communication protocols.
• Participate in planning, design, technical review and implementation for new network infrastructure hardware and network operating systems for voice and data networks.
• Perform systems management and integration functions; maintain virtualization technologies and network administration; preserve network standards including TCP/IP; provide technical consultation, training and support to IT staff as designated by the government.
• Diagnose and resolve complex communication problems; ensure systems are current with approved patches; assist with certification and system accreditation tasks; compose SOPs and Quick Reference guides for users.
• Advise on selection of technological purchases regarding processing, data storage, data access, and applications development; assess feasibility of potential future projects for management.
• Develop client/server strategy and design infrastructure; set standards for the client/server relational database structure; oversee design and development of a robust client/server environment.
• Lead major technology assignments; evaluate performance and recommend changes affecting short-term project growth and success; function as a technical expert across multiple projects; may supervise others.

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• Minimum of 7 years of experience with 5 years of relevant experience with strong Linux skills
• Strong scripting skills

The annual starting salary for this position is between $160,000-$175,000.
