Within the Energy Providers practice, the company recognizes its clients are experiencing multiple, simultaneous transformations that challenge existing business models and ways of working while opening new opportunities. We leverage our capabilities across the Energy Transition, Industrial Revolution 4.0, and Business Model Digitalization to guide clients forward to new futures that build trust in society and help them succeed.

What You Will Do

The Key Client Partner will drive growth and customer satisfaction in the Energy Providers Practice through crafting, selling, and overseeing delivery of our suite of services—strategic advisory, technology, and risk‑management consulting engagements—primarily focusing on Investor‑Owned Utilities. Charged with overall account growth and satisfaction, this role requires a self‑motivated, driven professional with strong sales acumen, closing skill, and a proven track record in complex solution selling, plus a solid understanding of utilities and energy business operations.

  • Develop/expand long‑term client relationships that will lead to repeat business, meeting and exceeding sales targets set.
  • Lead the pursuit and closure of new consulting engagements.
  • Identify and qualify opportunities within the energy utility industry and develop proactive strategies to increase the company’s market share.
  • Build deep trusted advisor relationships with key Utility client stakeholders and decision makers.

  • Improve client business performance through benchmarking, process improvement, performance metrics, operating risk assessment, and implementation of continuous improvement principles for clients, including assessment and guidance of business process and organizational changes to improve effectiveness; building results‑oriented business processes; developing and implementing long‑ and short‑term strategies; and overseeing project assignments, including development of team, outline of work plan, direction and coordination of technical contributions, and oversight of budget and schedule.
  • Contribute strategic industry, subject‑matter expertise and thought leadership on project assignments within the business unit or elsewhere within the organization.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of the energy utility market via literature, research, networking, and the development of relationships with key client decision makers.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies and employ sales tools that lead to a deep understanding of a client’s challenges and opportunities, which may then be translated into revenue‑producing services.
  • Attract, build, and expand strong relationships and interact regularly with existing and new clients, teaming partners, and key stakeholders in the energy utility market.
  • Set personal performance goals which are aggressive, achievable, and meet or exceed long‑term goals.
  • Provide mentoring to junior level staff.
  • Manage all aspects of client relationships and oversight of engagement delivery.
  • Review and, at times, prepare and deliver reports, presentations and other documents for client deliverables.
