Overview
Sidwell Friends, a co-educational PK-12 Quaker day school with campuses in Washington, DC, and Bethesda, MD, seeks applicants for an Assistant Varsity and/or JV Girls Volleyball Coach for Fall 2025. The fall season begins in mid to late August and concludes in November.
Responsibilities- Promote and create a positive team culture; develop fundamentals and skills of the game; organize and enthusiastically run practices; and implement effective game strategies.
- Maintain a high standard of integrity in all aspects of team management; foster a culture that promotes the Quaker values and the academic experience of the student; integrate school core values as the framework from which to coach and build athletic programs.
- Approach the role thoughtfully with a desire to improve and engage in innovative thinking essential for success.
- Passion for coaching and developing young players.
- Minimum of 1 year of successful coaching experience at the collegiate or high school level, and/or in a strong club volleyball setting. High level playing or team managerial experience may be considered in lieu of the full year of coaching experience.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
- Coaching is campus-based and requires in-person presence.
- Stipend $2,500.00–$3,852.00. Stipend will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
