Position Description Summary

Lynn R. Goldman Endowed Professorship in Environmental and Community Health

The Milken Institute School of Public Health at the George Washington University seeks applicants for the Lynn R. Goldman Endowed Professorship in Environmental and Community Health. We invite tenure-eligible applicants at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor for a full-time, tenured faculty position starting as early as Summer 2025.

We are seeking a public health scholar in the dynamic intersection of environmental health and prevention and community health whose research examines how environmental health issues profoundly affect communities and populations. The scholar’s research may explore the social and environmental determinants of health, environmental justice, health equity, climate vulnerability (including heat, extreme weather, waterborne diseases, food security, and safety), or worker health and safety.

Additionally, scholars who engage in community mobilization and advocacy to propel public health initiatives forward and encompass environmental or community health policy, among other pertinent fields, are invited to apply. We encourage innovative, interdisciplinary research methods. The successful applicant will have a primary appointment in either Prevention and Community Health or Environmental and Occupational Health, with a complementary secondary appointment in the alternate department, fostering an integrative approach to public health challenges.
