Responsibilities

The Associate Director of Engagement for MBA Admissions is responsible for assisting to recruit, admit, yield, and retain progressively higher quality prospective students to the MBA program, and to engage alumni and students in the recruitment process. The role will bring strategic vision and project management skills to efficiently manage and optimize the student ambassador team (14-20 students). The role is the relationship manager for faculty and Centers/Initiatives at the McDonough School of Business (10–12 entities) to support recruitment and events.

It will foster university-wide partnerships across four schools with dual degrees plus undergraduate programs to leverage collaboration in events. The role includes formalizing rolodex and expanding contacts for alumni willing to support MBA recruitment events. As a recruiter and Admissions Committee member, the incumbent will represent the school at recruitment events, review applications for admission, interview applicants, meet with prospective students and visitors to campus, serve as an Admissions Advisor, and respond to requests for information.

Work Interactions

The Associate Director of Engagement reports directly to the Director of MBA Recruitment & Diversity Partnerships and works closely with current MBA students and alumni, as well as McDonough faculty, MBA Admissions Committee staff, and cross-university faculty and staff. This role contributes to the University’s mission by fostering relationships across students, alumni, faculty, and staff that support MBA Admissions to recruit a diverse community.

Requirements

and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 4–6 years of experience within a corporate or university setting
  • Above-average interpersonal skills and project management skills, with strong communication, team-building, and attention to detail. A natural networker who enjoys engaging with multiple audiences to build and maintain relationships.
  • Ability to establish a strategic vision that meets the department’s goals and best utilizes available resources; capable of executing this vision and holding team members accountable.
  • Strong collaboration, sound judgment, critical assessment, with solid follow-up.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and experience with planning and managing events.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of or experience with Salesforce, Airtable, or Marketo preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in business, higher education, or counseling preferred
  • Experience in alumni relations, development, sales, business development, or recruitment/admissions preferred

Pay Range

The projected salary range for this position is $47,586.00 – $87,558.13
