SummaryJob Description:
Professor Yujin Jeong (Associate Professor of Management and Kogod IB Research Professor) is seeking highly motivated and qualified graduate students for a Graduate Assistant (GA) position. The selected GA will work closely with Prof. Jeong on research and teaching activities for the Spring 2026 semester, with the possibility of renewal. The ideal candidate should have a strong academic background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for education and research.
Functions
- Assist in the preparation of course materials, including lecture notes, assignments, and exams.
- Conduct tutorials, workshops, or lab sessions to support student learning.
- Provide guidance and support to students on course-related inquiries.
- Evaluate and grade assignments, exams, and other assessments.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to enhance their understanding and performance.
- Maintain accurate records of student grades and attendance.
- Collaborate with the professor on ongoing research projects.
- Conduct literature reviews and assist in data collection and analysis.
- Contribute to the preparation of research publications and presentations.
- Assist in organizing and coordinating academic events, seminars, or workshops.
- Part-time.
- 10 expected hours per week.
- $18.50 per hour.
- Current enrollment in a graduate program at AU with an interest in global business/business-government relations/political economy/diversity-inclusion/corruption.
- Strong critical thinking and excellent verbal communication skills.
- A responsible and professional demeanor.
- Good academic standing with a strong GPA.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
- Familiarity with research methodologies, data analysis, and literature review.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with students, faculty, and staff.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Previous research experience is an asset.
- Required residency in the Washington metropolitan area (MD, DC, VA) for employment purposes, though most work can be conducted remotely.
