Responsibilities

• Faculty is responsible for teaching in the Associate of Applied Science in nursing degree/Practical Nursing program.
• Faculty members are required to develop new courses, interact with peers to develop/revise curricula, and participate in accreditation-related tasks.
• Faculty members are required to participate in recruitment and retention efforts, be responsible for academic advisement and registration, maintain office hours, serve on committees, and perform other related administrative duties.
• Faculty members are required to participate in curriculum design, development, and evaluation.
• Full-time or Part-time nursing faculty are responsible for teaching in the classroom, skills lab, and a variety of clinical settings; recruit, advise, and counsel students in the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing degree.
• Faculty members are required to participate and serve on school committees; select appropriate materials/equipment for program use; and coordinate academic and clinical activities.
• Faculty members are required to participate in district-wide nursing workshops and continuing education programs, and to communicate effectively with students, school personnel, health facility personnel, and management.
• Faculty members are required to perform other duties as may be assigned by the College's President and to work within the program's mission and educational goals.
• Faculty members are required to maintain current skills and certifications as required by the State of Virginia.

• Minimum requirements include a Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN), RN licensure in the State of Virginia, Maryland, or DC at the time of hire, and two (2) years of clinical experience within the last five (5) years.
• Professional experience may include maternal-child, medical-surgical, mental health, and geriatric/community health nursing.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
