SummaryThe research assistantship is designed for a student to assist tenured Spanish faculty with their research in Latin American or Spanish studies. As part of the assistantship, the student will compile research, complete literature reviews, and seek resources for developing a fall course on Latin American Migration Narratives. A part of the research will benefit a volume on the ethics and aesthetics of human rights.
One of the major sections of this book is on migration literature, and the research assistant will help with bibliographic searches and other research-related tasks. Another component of this research will be dedicated to liaising with the Washington College of Law and the Immigration Lab, housed at the Center for Latin American and Latino Studies, where the research assistant will undertake tasks relating to translation and interpreting, and will report on this work to my course on migration in Latin America.
