Position: School Compliance Manager On Assignment

Job Summary

The School Compliance Manager On Assignment role is an integral part of the School Support and Service team, working alongside office managers and operations to run day‑to‑day functions of our schools. This full‑time, fully on‑site role is available immediately and will end in June 2026, with a starting salary range of $71,305‑$77,504.

About the Role

In this role you will support our schools by maintaining documentation and managing matters related to compliance with federal and state requirements at the campus and school level. You will also assist in sustaining policies and systems that ensure KIPP DC’s overall compliance with regulations and fidelity of student information. You will balance information system management while providing friendly support to families as a reliable face of KIPP DC.

This exempt position reports to the Associate Director or Director of School Support and Service (S3). It requires full onsite presence in schools during regular business hours.

Responsibilities
  • School Level Compliance (30% of time)
    • Partner with school teams to implement, monitor, and document compliance around a full spectrum of federal and state requirements.
    • DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education and Public Charter School Board requirements, including audits, reviews, and annual reports.
    • Supporting student support efforts including ELL and 504 requirements, documentation, and compliance.
    • Student health records, medication, and immunization requirements.
    • Maintain accurate student records; court orders and guardian alerts.
    • ESSA program compliance requirements.
    • Monitor student attendance concerns; ensure required steps are followed for students with 20+ absences.
  • Student Enrollment Management (35% of time)
    • Execute enrollment strategy for an entire campus and support documentation review including residency requirements and compliance.
    • Monitor enrollment budget targets and determine cadence of offers to reach goals.
    • Accurately collect all enrollment, re-enrollment, and exit management documentation.
    • Work with Associate Directors to monitor audits and action steps in the Enrollment Audit and Child Count Application.
    • Manage enrollment systems and processes to achieve fully enrolled schools.
  • School & Campus Support (20% of time)
    • Communicate and coordinate with office managers and school leaders at each campus.
    • Ensure school teams have clarity around compliance processes and requirements.
    • Support re-enrollment efforts alongside the student recruitment team; serve as main point of contact for families on campus and attend events.
    • Assist with student recruitment and enrichment activities to fulfill KIPP DC’s mission.
  • Health Compliance & Coordination (15% of time)
    • Set a campus-wide strategy to maintain updated health and immunization records for all enrolled students.
    • Assist Associate Director of Health Services & Compliance; coordinate health efforts with nursing staff.
    • Ensure compliance with monthly health regulations, including medication usage and tracking.
    • Support administration of medication adherence and training.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 4 years of experience in a related field.
  • 2 years of experience working in an education environment.
  • Self‑starter with customer service experience and relationship management skills.
