GeneralInformation
Assistant Academic Directors (AADs) are a resource for high school students, Mentors, and the Academic Director (AD). AADs can change gears quickly and troubleshoot problems independently to implement and oversee the day-to-day logistics of their programs. The AAD is an administrative support position for the AD and Program Management Team that requires an academic professional who is reliable, responsible, flexible, and able to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
AADs must also possess the ability to supervise a team of Mentors throughout the summer.
The College Prep Program is a 5‑week program designed to help high school students develop valuable skills to succeed in college and beyond. Students take undergraduate‑level courses, attend lectures, test preparation seminars, and group sessions led by program staff. The College Prep AAD collaborates with the AD to support a college search and college skills series, developing topics such as college applications, goal setting, and study strategies.
The AAD will also guide and support mentors in facilitating discussions and activities with students throughout the program.
