General

Information

Assistant Academic Directors (AADs) are resources for high‑school students, mentors, and the Academic Director (AD). AADs can change gears quickly and troubleshoot problems independently to implement and oversee the day‑to‑day logistics of their programs. The AAD is an administrative support position for the AD and Program Management Team that requires an academic professional who is reliable, responsible, flexible, and able to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.

AADs must also possess the ability to supervise a team of mentors throughout the summer.

SFS Academies

The SFS programs include:
International Relations I Academy, International Relations II Academy, and Washington & the World Academy. These programs are led by Curriculum Developer and Academic Director, Professor Tony Arend. Each academy is one week long, with an intensive schedule full of attending lectures, visiting embassies, and discussions with peers. Given the nature of these programs, the SFS AAD will begin work in the spring to assist with program development.
