Aboutthe Position
Meridian seeks a Resident Teacher for its Elementary Campus (PreK‑5). Residents work across multiple classrooms as needed and gain opportunities for support and development. This pipeline position can lead to full Classroom Teacher roles when available.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Implement curriculum and use classroom routines consistently.
- Develop lesson plans, homework assignments, and assessments.
- Present academic content with varied instructional strategies to reach all learners.
- Communicate and enforce high expectations and standards for behavior and academic performance.
- Participate in professional development focused on best practices in teaching Common Core standards.
- Build and maintain relationships with students and families, including phone calls and conferences.
- Provide classroom coverage when a lead teacher is absent.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Classroom teaching experience in an urban school setting preferred.
- Commitment to educating students for academic achievement and empowering healthy lifestyle choices.
- Belief in every student’s capacity for high academic achievement and dedication to creating a highly structured, effective, and engaging learning environment.
- Receptive to feedback and eager to continuously improve.
- Provide classroom coverage when a lead teacher is absent.
