SY26-27 Early Childhood Lead Teachers role at DC Prep
Full‑time, 10 month, exempt, starting August 2026 in Washington, DC.
About DC PrepDC Prep is a high‑performing network of public charter schools serving over 2,100 preschool through 8th‑grade students across six campuses. We prioritize academic excellence, social‑emotional learning, and professional growth for staff.
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver rigorous, standards‑based instruction for early childhood students.
- Adapt curriculum and conduct small‑group instruction to meet individual learning needs.
- Use data and classroom culture metrics to inform instruction and target improvement areas.
- Participate in professional development and collaborative planning sessions.
- Maintain classroom records, reports, attendance, and assessments.
- Engage families and community partners in student success.
- Observe peers and provide feedback as part of a continuous improvement cycle.
- Meet scheduled duty times (Mon‑Fri, 7:15‑4:15 am; Wednesdays 7:15‑5:00 am for PD).
- Minimum 2 years of lead teaching experience in an urban public school with a record of high student achievement.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (advanced degree in education preferred).
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) and ability to work with diverse audiences.
- Analytical and judgment skills for independent decision‑making.
- Organizational aptitude, ability to multitask, and meet deadlines.
- Positive attitude and personal stability for a demanding role.

- Highly competitive salary; salary range $65,500–$98,880 for the 10‑month term (actual rate depends on experience).

- Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the classroom; lift up to 30 lb.
- Work at a computer desk for extended periods; perform repetitive hand movements.
